Friday Homework (due Mon., Feb. 27)

1. If not already done, write your buddy letters (or life map or mystery biography, an option for old buddies only). THEY WERE DUE FRIDAY BUT WILL BE ACCEPTED MONDAY.

2. Think about and create either a memorial to the victims of lynching (to remember them) or a monument to the anti-lynching/anti-racism activists. You may also do a COMBINATION.

Use any media you like: collage, clay, words (poetry, lyrics, speech, song), sounds, compilations of things from the internet -- could be a CD, on paper, a sculpture, a poster, something performed, something drawn.

Do most of it this weekend. Take it seriously. Most important: be able to explain why and how it is a memorial or monument. YOU MAY TURN IT IN TUESDAY, but be forewarned that other homework will be assigned Monday night.

DUE MARCH 6, MONDAY: COMMUNITY SERVICE REPORTS FOR FEBRUARY.
