Write an introduction to Ch.2 (at least one long paragraph, but preferably 2 paragraphs). Use at least one parenthetical reference. It would be better to write enough so that you are trying out more than one parenthetical reference.

PLEASE BRING IN A PRINTED COPY OF THIS INTRO. SO YOU'LL HAVE IT IN FRONT OF YOU DURING CLASS.

1. Write a research question and hypothesis about Ch. 3. You can change it if you do research and find out you were wrong.. Here is a sample research question and hypothesis.

Research Question:	How did the immigration experience to America differ between people from Southeast Asia and Germany?
Thesis Statement:	While both German and Southeast Asian immigrants came to the United States to flee from war and both experienced persecution in their new country, the Southeast Asian experience was far more difficult because of the Viet Nam War.

2. Make about five note cards for your new Chapter 3 topics.

3. Tomorrow, we'll be researching in class. You will have work periods every day, now through the due date for Ch.3, next Wednesday, May 9.
