1. Read about Du Bois and Washington, p. 7A in the Without Sanctuary (WOS) packet. Do a little research on Ida B. Wells and write down what you find out about her.

2. Read the speech/article by Du Bois on pp. 7B and 7C. Answer the 3 questions (in the packet margins is fine).

Catch up on your reading if you're behind. I noticed a couple of you were really quiet during the discussion today. It's worth reading Wright's personal account...

2. Read 1/2 of the Reconstruction primary sources packet. By Tuesday, you should have read all of it. Also, look over and think about the questions. I'm not asking you to write anything, but I expect you to have done some reflecting.
